We left our final campsite of our holiday...it was cloudy, cool and starting to rain by the time we set off to the border....
It was a very quiet drive....I think we were both thinking about all we had experienced on this crazy holiday of ours...

The border was fast approaching.....a part of us were excited about seeing friends and family...the other part was hoping we could turn the truck around and head the other way....

We spent a great evening with family and friends, reliving some of our crazy trip, finding out what was new with everyone, and preparing ourselves for the final journey home.

We awoke the next morning to rain, and on learning that the Coquihalla Highway was getting lots of snow, we made one last stop to visit family and headed home via the Fraser Canyon.

After what seemed like a very long drive...we arrived home to Vernon....it felt really strange.

When we pulled in we could hear Gracie barking......We love her...For those of you who haven't met her, this is Gracie...

She wasn't sure who was home, she just knew someone was there.  We opened the door and she stopped barking and just stood there for a minute...staring....trying to figure out if it was really true....that we were finally home....she squealed  and squealed for the next 1/2 hour...I was worried her little puppy dog heart was going to burst....

And this was Maggie shortly after we got home.....We know what bad things she had been up to since we left.....
It seemed like forever since we had been home, we both walked in and stood in the kitchen and looked at each other and thought...This place seems really big.......but I guess that's what happens when you spend 2 1/2 months in a 24 foot trailer traveling around the United States....

Well,  we had a great time and feel very fortunate to have had the chance to realize our dream of traveling the USA in our RV...Thank you for sharing our journey with us on our blog and until next time..........happy travels......

Our trip is winding down, with each passing day we are feeling the end is near....We spent a very busy day again with the grandbabies....it is exhausting...but fun...Not sure who ate more at breakfast...Izzy or Tucker...
Walk, change diapers, feed, change more diapers, play time, nap time, reading time, let the dog out, snack time, change more diapers, snack time again....and all before noon....whew!!!
Then it was off to spend our first ever "Halloween with the Grandbabies"...Izzy, Kinsley and cousin Arriana...
We had grandbabies, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas....it was great...
This was the busiest street we have ever seen for trick-or-treating...there were about 500 kids and their parents and their dogs....it was like a busy day in Disneyland...

Our last night in the USA, couldn't have wished for anything more....

Today is a day on more familiar ground, we are visiting family in Lynnwood Washington.  Cloudy skies greeted us this morning. Time for a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo with the grandbabies....

Grandpa George and Kinsley check out the giraffes...
Then off the see the Big Cats.....
All of these animals were "okay"....Kinsley only wanted to see the penguins...So off we went in search of the penguins....Izzy the innocent bystander in the backseat...getting ready for a nap...

Ahhh, so finally we found the penguins...in which she says..."Those aren't penguins.....they are too small"....I guess these little guys...
Were not really as impressive as the other penguins she may have seen, maybe like these...I don't blame her...

Well luckily she caught sight of a child having an icecream and decided that looked like a good idea....So now we were off in search of  "mint icecream"...by this time Izzy was snoozing and missed out...
Back in search of more animals...
Before we knew it...Kinsley was napping after having eaten way too much icecream, and our sweet little Izzy joined us...
More beautiful fall colours...
And a great day hanging out with our beautiful grandbabies...
After a great day at the Zoo and dinner with the kids....We were exhausted!!!!!.....needed to go home to rest up for tomorrow....

I woke up really,  really, really early this morning and looked out the window and saw stars....that meant that we would have a lovely drive by the ocean on our way "one day closer" to home...I could  hear the ocean crashing against the rocks....It has become a very familiar sound....

This was our last stop at the ocean....You can't tell from the picture....but I really find this hard....We have seen the ocean every day for about 3/4 of our trip, so almost 2 months...and we loved every minute of it...we loved hearing it, watching it, walking in the sand, exploring the coastline for sea life....

Luckily for George (after leaving one of my favourite places... the ocean) I was distracted by seeing the brilliant colours of fall, all the reds, oranges, and yellows that I love so much...

Before we knew it we were in Portland Oregon....another favourite place of ours...It really is a very pretty city....

Then into Washington ....and this is Mount Rainier...
And Seattle, our destination for today, was not far behind...

Can't wait to spend the next couple of days here in Seattle with the kids and the grandbabies....we are still discussing who will be responsible for changing diapers....I say whoever holds the baby when the deed happens...you're it....

We were amazed that when we awoke in Crescent City, California,  there was no ocean fog at all....clear skies all the way...a little cold but really nice. We were looking forward to getting into Oregon...no sales tax and cheap gas....yee-ha!!!!

I was so happy to be back at the ocean, I hadn't realized how much I loved it, but in seeing the ocean, and the waves crashing against the rocks....it just took my breath away...but it drives George crazy because of course I want to stop at every "lookout" and every"ocean access"....we can't make very good time doing that....
This may be the strangest thing I have taken a picture of...but all you mom's with young kids will appreciate this...This was on the inside of the ladies washroom doors at the Fred Meyer store in Brookings Oregon....really....a safe spot to fasten your kids while you are...busy......ingenious....
We followed the coastline on our journey towards home...The Oregon Coast is just so beautiful...

We enjoyed ocean views....forests...and then back to the ocean again...and then the Oregon Sand Dunes....I could not resist making George pull over so that I could run in the sand....
George was not interested in joining me on running to the top of the dunes, so I had to take a "selfie"...yikes
Back on the road, we were not making very good time today, but what the heck...stopped for our last meal of "Fish and Chips" at a little place in Winchester Bay
We had such beautiful weather on the drive today, clear blue skies, no wind...just beautiful scenery...

We found a great campsite in Southbeach, Oregon, right across the road from the beach...we quickly set the trailer up and then off to the beach to explore one last time.....

What a beautiful evening on the Oregon Coast....
